Insider's Look at Upcoming New Orleans Attractions

Spring promises French Quarter Fest, Easter parades, bountiful brunches, and more.

New Orleans is known for indulgence, from five-star cuisine and infinite soirees to exclusive shopping excursions and stunning scenery. Spring is upon us, and with it comes a host of happenings for you and yours.

With Easter just around the corner on April 5, Easter egg hunts, lavish brunches and festive parades are perfect for creating lifelong memories with family and friends. Take the kids and hunt for treasure at City Park’s picturesque Carousel Gardens, host of the city’s largest egg hunt featuring more than 15,000 eggs.

Catch some swag from the Historic French Quarter Easter Parade as they roll on Easter Sunday. The parade of mule-drawn carriages and classic convertible cars begins at Antoine’s Restaurant around 9:45 a.m. and marches to St. Louis Cathedral.

As a city celebrated for its abundance of signature chefs and culinary prowess, no trip to the “Food Capital of the World” can be complete without a delicious meal. Savor the sumptuous Easter brunch menu selections at some of New Orleans’ finest restaurants. Better yet, reserve your spot at The Grill Room at Windsor Court on Easter Sunday for a spectacular four-course feast from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

And if you can’t get enough of the vibrant Vieux Carré, fall in love with the French Quarter Festival, scheduled for April 9-12. Established during the 1984 World’s Fair, what started as a neighborhood festival and ‘locals’ experience has grown into the largest showcase of Louisiana music and food in the world. This year’s event will employ more than 1,400 world class, local musicians and feature some of New Orleans’ premier restaurants at “The World’s Largest Jazz Brunch.” As the unofficial kickoff to New Orleans’ festival season, French Quarter Festival truly immerses visitors in a unique, cultural experience that cannot be replicated anywhere.
