The Royal Family - Charlene Sambrone
Position: Room Attendant
Years of Service: 23 Years
While small in stature, Charlene’s sunny disposition and joie de vie ensures she makes a big impression on her fellow associates and long-time repeat guests.
Charlene began working in the Housekeeping Department in 1993. Although occasionally filling in as a lobby attendant and in the laundry, her primary responsibility through her tenure has been as a room attendant – conducting day service for stayover guests as well as cleaning rooms after a guest has departed. She cites interacting with guests as the best part of her job and takes great pride in knowing a guest’s preferences with how they like their room organized. Described by her supervisors as ‘positive, and consistent,’ it is easy to see why her peers look to her as the gold standard in service.
In her free time, Charlene enjoys embroidering and crocheting items for her grandchildren. She also has a love for dancing which is evident at the hotel’s annual holiday party and summer family picnic as she is always the first one on the dance floor and encourages others to do the same.
Favorite Windsor Court Moment
Like many tenured team members, Charlene’s favorite moment was in 1998 when Windsor Court was honored as Condé Nast Traveler’s #1 Hotel in the World. She remembers the grand celebration the hotel had for the team as a fun and proud moment in her career.
