Position: PBX Operator
Years of Service: 14 years
When calling Windsor Court, one of the soothing and upbeat voices you might hear at the other end of the line belongs to Dalethia Mack.
Dalethia is another tenured member of the Windsor Court Family, initially starting in 2005 as an Order Taker in Suite Service. The events of Hurricane Katrina relocated her to Georgia; however, just two months later, she received a call from the General Manager asking her to come back to New Orleans, but as a PBX Operator instead.
The GM worked closely with Dalethia prior to Katrina when he was Food and Beverage Director. He remembered Dalethia as a gem he wanted back on the team, except this time, he wanted to have all guests, not just those ordering Suite Service, to be able to be welcomed by her warm voice. Dalethia was honored to return and has been a PBX Operator ever since.
Dalethia enjoys connecting the dots so guest requests can be met and also enjoys brightening people’s days with her positivity and cheerful attitude. She feels blessed to be a part of the Windsor Court family, and is grateful for the genuine concern and care the team has for each other.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, whether it be her son (36); daughter (33); three grandsons (12), (14) and (18); or her four sisters.
Favorite Windsor Court Moment
Not letting her role behind the scenes stop her from being empowered to assist a guest, it is not uncommon to find Dalethia forwarding her phone to the front desk so that she can personally assist a guest. One moment in particular she fondly recalls is when a guest who is in her 90s called for help in accessing her voicemail. The guest was having challenges despite the instructions Dalethia was giving, so Dalethia offered to go up to the room to personally assist the guest. The guest was overjoyed that Dalethia would go above and beyond to do such a thing, and whenever the guest returns, she always looks forward to speaking with Dalethia.
