The Royal Family - Lisa Ochello
Position: Tea Server
Years of Service: 25 years
Lisa has worn many hats over the years at the Windsor Court Hotel. She has had some adventures in Banquets and The Grill Room but the Tea Room has always seemed like her calling. Lisa is serious about the art of serving tea and describes it as her passion. Over the many years, she has had the privilege of serving a host of luminaries including British Royalty, local and international celebrities and everyday folks that have come to love the art of having tea. Lisa’s favorite tea themes include: holiday, Halloween, mad-hatter, prohibition, butterfly, princess and any children themes.
In her free time Lisa enjoys relaxing at home with her daughter Olivia. Although the busy holiday tea season can mean long hours with few days off, Lisa says working in the tea salon gives her a quality of life that she could never have imagined over 25 years ago.
One of Lisa’s most rewarding moments at the Windsor Court was when she was selected as “Guest for a Night” and brought her daughter Olivia. The beautiful lobby paintings and beautiful pool made Olivia feel like a princess. She remembers fondly when they walked into the hotel Olivia’s eyes lit up. Having the chance to show Olivia the beautiful hotel was very rewarding.
Favorite Windsor Court Moment
My most favorite moment was when the hotel was voted best hotel in the world in 1998 by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine. To celebrate this amazing honor, our General Manager at the time gathered all associates in the courtyard and a photographer took a picture of each associate. We were also given a gift in honor or our service to the hotel. That day I felt a tremendous sense of pride. I’m honored to be part of the Windsor Court Hotel Family.
