The Royal Family - Roger Blais
Position: Head Bartender
Years of Service: 20 years
A favorite of locals and tourists alike, Roger Blais is a true New Orleans and Windsor Court institution, celebrating his 20th anniversary this year at the Polo Club Lounge. Roger makes each guest feel at home and like an old friend remembering names and more importantly, their drink of choice. He keeps people coming back for his elegant takes on classic cocktails. As a cognac connoisseur, he loves introducing guests to the bar’s impressive collection.
“In all my years, I have been blessed to work with the finest professionals in the hospitality industry. I take extreme pride in the job that I do, place that I work and people I work with.”
In his time away from the hotel, Roger loves Saints football, Yankee’s baseball and a little construction project here and there. In fact, though it was a five year labor of love, Roger built his current home by hand from digging the foundation to putting the last shingle on the roof. Future plans include construction of a new house including a pool on property recently purchased with his wife of 36 years.
Favorite Windsor Court Moment
Roger has many Windsor Court favorites, but two stand out. One, being part of the 1999 team when Condé Nast Traveler rated the Windsor Court as the Best Hotel in the World and two, being listed on Travel + Leisure’s 2009 List of the World’s Greatest Bartenders.
