Insider's Look at Upcoming New Orleans Attractions - Fall Festivals

Best of New Orleans' Fall Festivals

Last year, New Orleans hosted 129 festivals attended by an estimated 4 million people. And fall in the Big Easy boasts an event for almost everyone, from po’boys, to music, to culture and contemporary art.

Visitors can try a new twist on Halloween this October during the rapidly growing Voodoo Music and Arts Experience October 30 - November 1. Come in costume to worship the music in City Park, and check out some of the nation’s top contemporary performing artists. If your passions lean more to art and technology, check out LUNA Fete November 29 - December 5. This citywide exhibit positions iconic, historic architecture as canvases in an unprecedented display of cutting-edge, outdoor light installations across the city.

Before and after the fests, make sure to stop by Cocktail Bar or the Polo Club Lounge to catch a glimpse of Windsor Court’s own impressive live music lineup, headlined by Robin Barnes, while sipping classic cocktails and enjoying sweet and savory bites.

In a city with so many culinary options, it’s no surprise that New Orleans is host to a variety of food festivals, including Boudin, Bourbon and Beer.  Held on November 13, this festival benefits the Emeril Lagasse Foundation and is dedicated to the love of bourbon and the art of making boudin, a Cajun sausage made from pork and rice. The Grill Room's Chef de Cuisine Daniel Causgrove joins world renowned chefs to present their takes on the Louisiana favorite.

And the food festivals wouldn’t be complete without paying homage to one of New Orleans’ most famous sandwiches. On November 22, celebrate at the Oak Street Po’Boy Festival, an annual street fair that features more than 40 restaurants offering traditional takes and modern twists, from roast beef and oyster, to lamb and feta or short ribs with onion rings.
