Savoring the Sound: New Orleans' Music Mavens

New Orleans is home to dozens of festivals and events that celebrate its unique music, food and multicultural heritage. But Windsor Court guests need to look no further than the hotel’s own acclaimed lounges for some of the best local music the city has to offer.

The live music schedule includes a powerful lineup of female vocalists—several of whom regularly take to the stage at the most popular local music events, including the recent French Quarter Festival and the upcoming New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

The Polo Club Lounge, reminiscent of the private clubs of England with its rich furnishings and dark woods, is the perfect backdrop for ’The Songbird of New Orleans,’ Robin Barnes. As the headliner on Friday and Saturday nights, she captivates audiences with her scintillating voice and melodic grace.

Renowned jazz vocalist Anais St. John takes to the stage every Saturday night in the hotel’s downstairs Cocktail Bar, a heralded spot for locals and tourists alike. With impressive vocals that reveal influences of jazz, opera and musical theater, the sultry songstress has performed at music venues and festivals across the globe.

Rounding out the lineup is Amanda Ducorbier, a recent mainstay to Windsor Court’s music calendar, who brings her soulful sound to performances in Cocktail Bar on Thursday and Friday nights.

If you want to get even more carried away with some of New Orleans’ favorite musicians, head over to the Fair Grounds Race Course for the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, April 24 – May 3. In addition to a stellar lineup of local favorites, the dizzying array of headliners includes Elton John, The Who, Keith Urban, Ed Sheeran and Jimmy Buffet, among many others.
